Survival is the issue foremost in many minds these days, taking a multitude of forms and flavours as it winds its way through the strata of conscious existence….
The Achuar and Kayapo in Amazonia, fighting to not be pushed off their ancestral lands by logging companies; Tibetan monks and nuns facing torture in Chinese jails; wealthy people in worried hiding; elephants, birds and monkeys fleeing coastal zones; middle Americans poring over their computers for news of the next disaster – the one that will send them scuttling off into well-stocked bunkers; artists of all stripes; mothers of little children; the unemployed, barely employed or elderly; money launderers and gold hoarders; students; proponents of democracy; the religiously orthodox; the ethically compromised….. Survival now looms large for all but the most ostrich-natured of the denizens of this Earth.
And we are getting strong messages, guiding us to what we can do. They come as books that fall into our field of awareness. They come as thoughts and images intruding repetitively onto our mind-screens. They come in the night, stealthily woven in symbol and metaphor, or with horrifying emotional clarity, through the open portals of the Dreamtime. We are being guided, prodded, cajoled and ordered to take steps that a short time ago would have been unthinkable…maybe they still are….
BUT WE MUST LISTEN…and then act….
The words of Christopher Fry, stuck to my fridge door for years, echo over and over in my brain these days:
from A Sleep of Prisoners
…Thank God our time is now when wrong
Comes up to face us everywhere,
Never to leave us till we take
The longest stride of soul we ever took.
Affairs are now soul size.
The enterprise
Is exploration into God.
Where are you making for? It takes
So many thousand years to wake,
But will you wake for pity’s sake!
What are you being called to do? Are you resisting it? From the quiet core of my own personal maelstrom, I beg you, please, to listen to your highest guidance…. Put your mind on a shelf and let it chatter away as much as it likes, of logic and propriety.
Be still and listen to the wisdom of your Soul. We all need this of each other…now.
I think our survival depends on it…
Blessings and Love,
Dawn
